        Dress Code

  • Backpacks or lunch bags are NOT allowed on campus

  • Uniforms must be worn everyday.

  • Shirts – Solid Navy, White or Red Polo shirt or Summer Grove Spirit shirt

  • Masks Grades K-2 optional but encouraged

  • Masks Grades 3-5 are MANDATORY

  • All bus riders must wear masks on the bus

  • Pants, Shorts, Skirts/Skorts,

  • Jumpers -Khaki or Navy

Arrival and Dismissal

  •  Due to Covid-19 guidelines, parents and / guardians will not be able to escort students into the building. Staff will assist students in finding their classrooms. As per changes made by the Caddo Parish School Board for the 2020-2021 school year, the time for the start and end of all schools has changed.  All elementary schools, including Summer Grove Elementary will report to school between 7:25 a.m. and 2:50 p.m.   Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Traditional Model

❖ Face-to-face instruction daily Monday through Friday

❖ Students will remain in static groups

❖ Emphasis placed on literacy and numeracy with opportunities for remediation

❖ Transportation will be provided for all eligible students

❖ Social distancing will be followed to the maximum extent possible

❖ Students will remain in static groups with adults rotating into classes to provide instruction

❖ Students will participate in activities such as recess and PE

❖ Grab-and-go meals provided for students 

Virtual Model 

❖ Students will be taught by certified teachers at their school

❖ All student work will be assessed for a grade based on the Board’s grading policy

❖ Technology will be provided for any families as needed to participate in virtual classes

❖ Students and families will receive training and supports on how to use the district’s new virtual platform, Canvas

❖ Canvas is the national leader in virtual learning supports for schools and is used by more than 2,000 schools and districts across the nation

❖ The user-friendly platform is customized based on grade level and teacher preferences

❖ Instruction will be offered live and on demand

❖ Grab-and-go meals will be provided

Arrival and Dismissal

  • Grab and go breakfast begins at 7:10 a.m., and it ends at 7:25 a.m.

  • Instruction begins at 7:25 a.m. If you arrive past 7:30 a.m., the student may be marked tardy. Adults must wear masks and wash their hands upon entering the campus.

  • The school day ends at 2:50 p.m. Parents of students who go home by car should pick their child up no later than 3:15 p.m. ​

  • Gr. PreK-K carpool will drop off and pick up in the back lot. 

  • Gr. 1-5 carpool will drop off and pick up in the front lot.
